Sediment Control Planning and Monitoring
Client: Gary Parker Excavating Ltd.

As part of a contaminated site remediation on a Canadian Forces Base, East Coast Aquatics provided sediment control planning and monitoring during. The works took place adjacent to a stream and small wetland area, and had storm water drainage discharged to the area. A site evaluation was completed and a series of field measures made to provide detail shop drawings depicting the location, type, and size of sediment control structures and methods to be employed. East Coast Aquatics then assisted with on site direction during installation of the structures, and provided daily monitoring and assessment of structure effectiveness and stability.

Several large coffer dams had to be implemented to allow partial dewatering of the adjacent stream during remediation works. The sedimentation control plan was designed to compliment the remediation construction design, and an existing environmental management plan for the work location.
